ServiceNow’s University AI Learning Days Attract Over 18,000 Attendees

By Lauren Westwood

ServiceNow’s recent AI Learning Days saw over 18,000 virtual attendees from more than 100 countries take part in a new program of interactive sessions.

This comes after ServiceNow introduced its reimagined learning platform, University, earlier this year – all part of its commitment to supporting and upskilling the community in an AI-driven market.

What’s an AI Learning Day?

In short, an AI Learning Day is a free, virtual event for anyone in the ServiceNow ecosystem – regardless of role or level of experience and expertise.

Taking place over four days, 20+ sessions were adapted for four different regions to make each learning day inclusive and accessible, with sessions ranging from keynotes and career journeys to panels and open discussions with MVPs and SMEs.

As the first of its kind, this new initiative will inevitably see some changes as it evolves and builds on attendees’ feedback, but one thing feels set in stone: the focus on connecting meaningfully with the ServiceNow community.

Senior VP and Head of Global Learning and Development Jayney Howson shared her enthusiasm in a recent LinkedIn post:

“The biggest thank you goes to everyone who joined us. Your curiosity, questions, and enthusiasm transformed what could have been just another virtual event into something genuinely special.”

What’s Behind ServiceNow’s AI Learning Days?

I spoke with Trina Marxen, Director of Learning GTM & Engagement – the architect behind what has been an incredibly varied and comprehensive program of accessible, practical sessions adapted for attendees from all over the world. No small feat!

How would you say these sessions have been received by the community so far?

“AI Learning Days (AILDs) have been a true labor of love, and it’s been inspiring to see how this globally inclusive, community-led program has resonated across the ServiceNow ecosystem.

“The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive; sessions were called inspiring, practical, and energizing. A highlight was our keynote, ‘Future Ready Learning: Upskilling and Reskilling in the Age of AI’ with Valerie Capers Workman, moderated by Shelly Holt. It reminded us that while AI may transform roles, human skills like empathy, intuition, and critical thinking remain indispensable, a message many were eager to hear.

“Sessions like ‘From App Engine to Agentic Future’ and ‘Unlocking Now Assist Skill Kit’ stood out for their hands-on relevance. And, in an unexpected twist, our Coral Reef volunteer activity became a powerful symbol of purpose-driven learning, showing how education can extend beyond screens to create real-world impact.”

From initial ideas to final delivery, how have these sessions evolved over time?

“It started with a simple vision: a free, virtual, globally accessible learning event. Through collaboration and creativity, that vision grew into a polished, multi-day program with 20+ sessions, regional customization, and a strong community ethos.

“AILDs are more than just an event; they complement ServiceNow’s broader learning ecosystem, helping professionals gain confidence and capability in applying AI to real-world challenges. And we’re excited to keep building on this momentum through ServiceNow University experiences.”

How do these learning days fit into the big picture when it comes to helping ServiceNow professionals harness AI in their day-to-day roles – and what comes next?

“AILDs are a strategic complement to other ServiceNow learning initiatives, reflecting ServiceNow University’s commitment to making AI learning accessible, practical, and globally relevant. They reinforce our mission to upskill and reskill professionals in an AI-driven world, offering accessible entry points for all learners, hands-on applications for day-to-day roles, and meaningful community connections through panels, networking, and even volunteerism.

“What comes next is building on this momentum: continuing to weave AI learning into the broader ServiceNow University ecosystem in ways that meet learners where they are. AILDs aren’t one-off; they’re part of a growing, sustainable journey that will keep evolving to help professionals harness AI today while preparing them for what’s ahead.”

On a personal note, what do these learning days mean to you, and what have been your main takeaways?

“For me, AILDs showcase the power of AI not only as a driver of professional growth but also as a force for community and social impact. They’ve been a highlight of my year and proof of what’s possible when trust, creativity, and collaboration come together.

“None of it would have been possible without the visionary leadership of Jayney Howson. Her clarity, trust, and belief in our ServiceNow University team gave us the freedom to dream big and deliver boldly. Jayney shows that leadership in the AI era means showing up with authenticity, agility, and heart, and that has been transformational for all of us.”

What Did the Community Think?

Having attended several learning sessions, CTA and MVP Mahathi Veena shared this sentiment of transformation.

“AI Learning Days was such an energizing experience with multiple sessions covering diverse topics. It started with a kick off around upskilling in the AI era, which really set the context for everything that followed. “The Architect’s Journey” cleared up something I’d always wondered about: CTA and CMA aren’t a ladder but two very different expert paths. Hearing from a Technical Project Manager made the career side feel very real and relatable.

“What really stayed with me though was ServiceNow’s AI vision – how it’s moved from IT ticketing to enterprise workflows, with AI agents already delivering $325M+ in value. As I left, one thought stuck with me: AI isn’t just transforming tools, it’s transforming us.”

Final Thoughts
