ServiceNow Acquires Data.World Just Months After Logik.ai and Moveworks Purchases

By Henry Martin

ServiceNow has acquired data governance platform Data.World just months after acquiring two other businesses.

The workflow management platform has signed a definitive agreement to take over Texas-based cloud-native data catalog provider Data.World, according to TechCrunch

Yet Another ServiceNow Acquisition

Reports of the deal emerged on the second official day of Knowledge 2025, held in Las Vegas, Nevada, between May 6 and May 8.

Data.World was founded in 2015 and is believed to have brought in venture financing worth more than $130M. The company is understood to be worth around $350M, but the specifics of the acquisition deal have not yet been revealed.

SVP and GM of data analytics at ServiceNow, Gaurav Rewari, told TechCrunch that ServiceNow was on the lookout for businesses that could help customers deploy artificial intelligence at scale, and provide more resources to make data “AI-ready”.

Rewari said: “As I like to say, this path to agentic ‘AI heaven’ goes through some form of data hell, and that’s the grim reality.”

He added that Data.World will be integrated into ServiceNow and their platform will be offered as a product to customers soon.

It is not the only news of ServiceNow’s ambitions to expand in recent times.

On April 3, ServiceNow announced that it had signed a definitive agreement to acquire Logik.ai. The company said at the time that Logik.ai’s “best-in-class” capabilities for sales and commerce would “expand ServiceNow’s growing CRM footprint and empower sales organizations to close deals faster, boost productivity levels, and achieve greater efficiency”.

John Ball, EVP and GM of CRM & Industry Workflows at ServiceNow, said at the time: “Customers want consumer‑grade experiences that are simple, scalable, fast, and accurate so they can focus on what matters most: closing deals, enabling customer success, and driving expansion opportunities.

“Logik.ai’s next generation technology will enable us to rapidly deliver that unique value. When combined with our powerful AI platform for business transformation, we will redefine what a leading CRM solution can do.”

And on March 10, ServiceNow announced an acquisition of Moveworks in a bid to combine ServiceNow’s agentic AI and automation capabilities with Moveworks’ front-end AI assistant and enterprise search technology.

ServiceNow said in a statement at the time: “Following closing, together with Moveworks, ServiceNow – with thousands of AI agents already deployed – will continue to drive use of its agentic AI ServiceNow Platform to accelerate enterprise adoption and innovation across key growth areas including CRM.”

ServiceNow has been contacted for comment.

Final Thoughts

ServiceNow’s wave of recent acquisitions is hopefully a positive sign for the community, as an indication of there being plenty of value still being created in the ecosystem.

While AI seems very much the order of the day for just about every tech company in existence at the moment, it’s interesting to note how CRM was specifically mentioned in the official materials released for both Logik.ai and Moveworks.

The most recent news also comes as ServiceNow announces expanded CRM tools at Knowledge 2025, in an apparent bid to take on rival tech giant, and CRM industry leader, Salesforce.
